Seven digital camera industry leaders have produced cameras, camcorders and hand-held computer devices that could contain a defective chip. Canon, Fuji, Konica Minolta, Olympus, Nikon, Ricoh and Sony have all produced cameras containing this defective piece within the past three years.
This bad chip causes the electronic device to fail in hot and humid conditions, causing blurred photographs, both on the device and in print. The photographs are irrecoverable. The companies will repair cameras when they malfunction, but at this point nothing will be done for operational cameras until they fail. No recalls have been issued. |
