Nice, informative article. I need a bit more information on shutter speed. You say I need a fast shutter speed. But what is a fast shutter speed and how can I tell what it is for a cameral I'm considering?

Fast shutter speed is a relative subject. for portrait photography you should set your digital camera to have minimum 1/250 in order to have a sharp image.
But it really depends on other factors like IS, ...
